Co ma Nike do przysłowia, czyli proverbia we współczesnych tekstach literackich

Abstrakt

The article is about the attempt to find the answer to the question in what range and in which shape the proverbs are present in contemporary literature. We extended the analysis over 13 published books which were awarded the Nike prize over the years 1997–2009. The proverbs occurred only in 6 prose books with 19 units either woven into the matter of the text or quoted as a citation. Half of them occurred in a basic canonical form whilst the rest came in abbreviations or a modified form. It was also noted that the proverbs occur in the speech of characters representing the older generation.
